The sexiest post that you will ever read

image This is a big week for Winston-Salem. Foothills Brewing Company, the Dash’s very own brewpub, is getting ready to release its Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout. The first keg of this year’s batch is going to be tapped on Wednesday afternoon. Last year, the beer was ranked the 14th best beer in the US and the 26th best beer in the world on Ratebeer.com (Users contributed over 1.4 million beer reviews to the site last year, so you know it’s legit as a motha). Did I mention that the beer is 10% alcohol? Now I did.

Enough stats. In case you’ve never had an Imperial Stout before, just know that it’s like a Guinness on steroids. In fact, St. Patrick’s Day was originally created to honor the day that Ol’ Pat smelled a pint of Imperial Stout and then singlehandedly tossed the Brits out of Ireland. Sexual Chocolate has - you guessed it - some delicious chocolate notes. It’s the libation that the gods drink whenever they get bored of sipping nectar.

In addition, this Saturday marks the first time that Foothills has made their beer available to the public in bottled form. In other words, it is a historic occassion. More information on this big, surly brew and the bottle release after you click on the “Read More...” link. Do it.

Prepare to be seduced, for this beer is no joke. Sexual Chocolate will have you melting like the Polar Ice Caps after just one sip. Casanova is reported to have dabbed a few drops of this beer on his wrists and neck before slaying damsels. Chuck Norris tried Sexual Chocolate once and subsequently joined the Peace Corps.

But I digress. Here’s the promised info on the bottle release:

Sexual Chocolate will be released in 22 oz. bottles beginning at 11:00am, February 2nd, 2008. Please lineup on Fourth St. near the front door of Foothills Brewing. The first 100 places in line will receive a bracelet for the purchase of 4 22oz. bottles of SC. Should there be more than 100 in line, the next 50 will receive a bracelet to purchase 2 22oz. Carpooling is your friend, folks.

Should we not go through the entire allotment, bracelets will be redistributed to those interested in purchasing additional bottles.

The price on Sexual Chocolate 2008 will be $15 per bottle. Please bring cash or cards, no checks. In addition, all Foothills merchandise will be available for purchase. Growlers of all other beers on tap will be available--again, sorry no SC growlers.

Tours will be available for those 1st timers....Saturday will also see some special beers on tap at Foothills, so come and hang out for a while. Foothills merchandise will be available as well.

Parking should be readily available on 4th St---if the street is full, please use Foothills back lot on Holly Ave. (Holly serves as 3rd St. behind Foothills) If you intend to hang out, trade, tailgate, etc.---PLEASE use the back parking lot. We will allow access out the back door after the sale begins. The brewery will be accessible for tours and looksies, as well as our brewery and sales.

Ladies - if your man likes good beer, you’ve found the perfect V-Day present. Gentlemen - if your lady doesn’t like beer, come buy a bottle, give it to her, and then rejoice when she scoffs and tells you that you might as well drink it. Everybody wins.

I’ll be at the pub on Wednesday and Saturday and probably all of the days in between. Come join me - I’ll be seated criss-cross apple-sauce in the corner lost in a beatific state of stout-induced nirvana. Noich.

Rob, My cousins and I are planning a McFeeley family reunion and just stumbled upon you and wondered if there is any chance we are related. We are descended from Michael McFeeley who came from Carrowmenagh in Co Donegal in 1885 and Susie O'Donnell. They started out in Harrison, NJ and then the family branched out to Linden, Bloomfield and the suburbs of NJ. If you think there may be a connection, please contact us.Posted by: Mary McCann Stone on April 20, 2008 8:55 pm
