Head for the Hills!
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, one of the male candidates for President will be visiting Wake Forest on Friday. Though the campaign has not officially announced it, College Democrats and the Administration have announced that Hillary Clinton will be speaking in Wait Chapel on Friday at 5:30. Luckily for PREPARE, Bill Clinton will not be at any of the fraternity parties on Friday night.
The topic of her speech is as yet unknown, but based on the North Carolina electorate, I can guarantee it will be very populist. She’ll portray herself, ironically, as the working man’s candidate in contrast to Barack Obama’s elitism. While we’re on that topic, I found an excellent article today from my favorite political columnist, George Will.
With Hillary stopping by, this will be the first stop for Wake Forest in the 2008 Election Circus. Let’s hope that we are blessed enough to have the circus come by a few more times before May 6 and before the November general election.
