Information about football tickets lacking

With the arrival of the new football season, especially the first home game, emotions are running high, yet students should not be wasting this energy worrying about ticket availability as has unfortunately been the case in the past week.

Though we acknowledge Student Government for its enthusiasm and hard work, we cannot overlook the organization’s poor communication with the student body concerning rather significant changes. Just days ago, SG was successful in obtaining 275 extra seats for students.

However, most members of the student body did not receive a formal e-mail announcing the change in seating and the procedure for procuring a ticket if not a member of the pep club. E-mails were sent from some members of the organization, but surely all students should have received information from SG in an organized manner.

Considering the large amount of excitement surrounding this season, this oversight in communication is even more pronounced. We hope that communication between SG and students becomes more efficient, and soon, so that when tickets become available, students will be able to take advantage of the much-coveted opportunity.

If SG wants people to be able to attend games, then it needs to be more transparent with its policies to ensure the maximum amount of non-Screamin’ Demons knows when to sign up for tickets and the process of obtaining these tickets. Otherwise, its goal of filling every seat is a lost cause.
