4th Dimension Gallery opens first solo exhibit

Junior Mitchell Anderson’s art exhibition, “Stitcheries,” will open Feb. 3 at downtown 4th Dimension Gallery, and will remain open until Feb. 28.
“Stitcheries” explores the traditionally feminine craft of embroidery creatively and originally, placing the art form in a fresh, modern context.
The exhibit will be comprised of around 20 pieces, all containing embroidered prose on traditional embroidery or on assorted found materials.
Anderson explained that the pieces are widely diverse. “Some of it is more removed from myself and universal, some of it is very personal and confessional … I play with the line between that,” he said.
For example, his work includes “Kiss and Tell,” an embroidered list of fourteen girls, as well as a series of five works called “The Break-up Flowers” in which five different break-up clich
