SG wannabe’s YouTube: Seven minutes in heaven?
It came to my attention recently that there exist youtube videos for the upcoming SG elections for candidates. I caved and clicked the link for Matt Triplett’s.
Wow.
Personal notes.
» Jacob, love the hair, real shaggy, makes me want to vote for Matt Triplett.
» Use of poor poor cinematography, makes me want to vote for Matt Triplett.
» Matt Triplett running around campus--definitely shows athleticism, definitely a quality I need in my? Wait what is he running for? I’m sorry after two minutes I got bored and closed it.

Wait, the part where our heroic protagonist nearly leaps over Poteat in a single bound didn’t make you want to vote for Matt Triplett? As the viewer of a very serious, very large budget production, I think that’s the most compelling part for me.

Posted by: HAHA on April 01, 2008 4:41 pmThe video is a joke, Mr. Martin. And Mr. Triplett is a joke, as a candidate, as a direct result of it. Wake Forest University. Not Wake Forest High School (although it might seem so at times).
Posted by: HAHA on April 01, 2008 7:47 pmHey HAHA, get back to juicy campus where you belong. The video is meant to be a fun break from his more serious campaign message “giving student government back to the students.” Hardly a joke.
Posted by: Tuesday's Gone on April 01, 2008 9:15 pmFirst of all, I appreciate the anonymity, HAHA. It’s always great to have a discussion with someone when they’re not held accountable for what they say (juicycampus). Second, is this video a joke? Well, yes. It is. It was made to be funny. We thought it would be fun to make and started filming before we even knew that Matt would have any opposition. The thing exists to amuse people and in turn to help them remember Matt’s name, in the same passing way as those large posters that say “brace yourself” and “don’t just talk the talk.” Would you hold one of those posters in isolation and judge the worth of an entire campaign off of it? I would hope not. As for Mr. Triplett and his campaign being a joke, I think you would reconsider your position after speaking with him about his thoughts for next year or viewing the statements he made at his SG debate. And actually, if you read the paper on which you blog so bravely, you would know from last Thursday that Matt is actually the candidate that the OGB endorsed. pwned.
Posted by: Joshua Martin on April 01, 2008 9:36 pmI voted for Triplett in lieu of a better candidate. My point is he did not take the campaign seriously enough.
