The university announced Oct. 26 it will be raising tuition and housing fees for the 2006-2007 school year.
Tuition will rise 6.4 percent to $32,040 for full-time undergraduate students, a $1,930 increase over last year.
The cost of housing will also go up, between 4.6 percent and 6 percent depending on the type of room.
The board of trustees approved the increases at an Oct. 21 meeting.
No decisions have yet been reached about next year’s tuition for the graduate and professional schools.
The rise in tuition is on par with those of recent years. Undergraduate tuition was raised by 6.7 percent for 2005-2006 and by 6.5 percent for 2004-2005. Overall, tuition has increased $5,550 since 2003.
University officials declined to comment on the increase at this time.
