A coalition of the Athletic Department, the Student Activities Fee, Screamin’ Demons and an alumni donor recruited eight buses to provide transportation students to Jacksonville, Fl. for the ACC Championship football game Dec. 2.

The buses can transport up to 400 students. However if demand exceeds the seating amount, efforts will be made to make more buses available.

Tickets for the bus will be on sale beginning Nov. 30. Each set will cost $35.

To purchase tickets students must be present and also show their student identification cards. Students may not camp out or hold spots for friends. Only one ticket may be purchased per student.

“The discussion of buses began Saturday night at the Maryland game after our great win. It progressed from there to involve the Student Life and Athletic Departments on Monday and Tuesday,” Public Relations Chair for Screamin’ Demons Lauren Grove said.

Despite provided transportation through the university, students will still be responsible for their game tickets and meals.

Students can purchase tickets to the Championship game at Bridger Field House for $40.

Students must present student identification cards to purchase a ticket, of which they can only purchase one.

The ticket office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec.1.

Students who are not traveling on the buses but still need hotel accomodations can make reservations for extra hotel rooms that the Athletic Department has secured at the Ramada Inn Mandarin.

The Athletic Department has subsidized the rooms so the rates will be $79 a night plus tax.

Room reservations are available in groups of four. Hotel rooms are available for both Dec.1 and Dec. 2.
