Grobe commits to 10 more years

“I have no idea what the future holds,” said football Head Coach Jim Grobe, “but I could not be happier than I am at Wake Forest right now.” After signing Feb. 27 a 10-year contract to remain with the Demon Deacons, Grobe’s future may now be more stable than before.

The announcement came at the same time Grobe was honored with a banquet for being named the Bobby Doddy Coach of the year.

Grobe said the fact that he is staying the university will benefit the entire team, as it boosts the comfort level of his players knowing that they will be under the direction of a contented coaching staff.

He signed the new contract despite being just four years into a previous 10-year deal signed three years ago. The new contract runs until the end of the 2016 season.
