The Deacons will be playing the University of Connecticut, who enter the game with a record of 9-3 and tied with West Virginia for the best conference record in the Big East.

The bowl paid out $750,000 to each participant last year.

Student tickets will be located in the lower bowl of the stadium. Students can purchase tickets from Dec. 3-12 at Bridger Field House at BB&T Field by showing their student ID card. Students can purchase tickets for other students by bringing their student ID cards.

The Deacons enter the game with an overall record of 8-4.

This is the first time in school history that the football team has earned trips to back-to-back bowl games. This is the eighth bowl game in university history and the third under Head Coach Jim Grobe.

Wake Forest and UConn have played twice before, with the Deacons losing 51-17 in Winston-Salem in 2003 and winning 24-13 at UConn last year.
